Foster & Partners Camp Nou Revamp
Posted on 19 May 2009
Taking their lead from the equally awesome Allianz Arena in Munich (slightly ironic in that they beat the Herzog de Meuron entry, creators of the Allianz, for the commission), Foster & Partners have created a stadium that will sit perfectly in such a flamboyant city and pays heavy references to the work of a man that shaped much of the Barcelona landscape, Antonio Gaudi. Also, this is the second flagship project in the EU that Foster & Partners have been commissioned to undertake, proving to me at least that the British are, and hopefully will remain, trailblazers in civil engineering. All in all, an amazing structure in an amazing city for one of the most special teams I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch play the game outside of White Hart Lane. Yes, I’m a Spurs fan. Why are you laughing?
Tim.
